Mushrooms of San Pedro Valley Park

After the early rains, December is the best time to observe the widest variety of mushrooms. Comb the trails with an expert on mushroom identification, J.R. Blair. We will pluck a variety of mushrooms and then reassemble at the Visitor Center with Mr. Blair to identify and discuss them.

Mr. Blair is a long-time member & past president of the Mycological Society of SF. At present he is a SFSU biology lecturer & the director of the Sierra Nevada Field Campus. J.R. Blair received his Master’s degree in Conservation Biology focusing on mushroom taxonomy in ‘99 within San Pedro Valley Park.
