The Friends’ second annual Photo Contest concluded on May 1st. A good number of entries were received – twice as many as last year. The images submitted were again of high quality and reflected both the skills of the photographers and the beauty of our beloved park and its inhabitants. Our three gracious judges, Matt Del Carlo, Edwin Hacking, and Sharron Walker have reviewed all the entries and completed their deliberations to determine the top three photographs in each of the four contest categories.
We will be printing and matting each of the winning images and displaying them in the Visitor Center in the next week or two. The images will also be featured in our next newsletter issue (July-August), which be sent out at the beginning of July. And along with the display in the Visitor Center, we will again hold a “Best of the Winners – People’s Choice Award” contest in which every visitor viewing the images there can place their vote for the overall best photograph. Come and see them in person!
