April Bird Song Walk

We will hike along the Trout Farm Trail and Plaskon Nature Trail identifying all species within earshot. Playback is used judiciously to ensure participants are focused on the right song, and allow comparisons between similar species. For over 20 years Jim Steele monitored birds by song for the USGS Breeding Bird Survey and taught the art of bird identification by song at SF State University’s Sierra Nevada Field Campus.
