June 10, 2017 at 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm UTC-8

West Coast of Baja and the Gulf of California

For over 20 years, Paul Jones has been leading boat trips that start in San Diego and run the length of the magnificent Baja Peninsula and proceed up into the lower Gulf of California. This presentation will discuss the wide variety of seabirds, whales and dolphins, seals and sea lions, and the biota of the nearshore environment that are seen in Baja. The waters of Baja have the largest diversity of cetaceans in the world and are rich in overall biodiversity. Paul will talk about the experience in general, showing photographs while discussing the biology of the species that are often seen on these trips.
